Okay. I posted this in a different section but maybe I'll ask the CTS-V owners.
I have an old non-CUE Audio/NAV system (2014). My map info is old. There is a fairly new road nearby me (5 years old), though I would have thought it would have been shown on my 2014 CTS-V! It is not.
So I would like to perform a map update. I'm concerned that I may be ordering map updates for the newer CUE interfaces.
I go here:
http://gmnavdisc.navigation.com/home/en_US/GMNA/USD
select Cadillac and CTS/2014. If I select DVD I get the following info:
GM/ALP/HDD
GM - NORTH AMERICA MAP UPDATE - ALPINE HDD - V.2015
Part number 23282364
If I select USB I get the following info:
GM - NEXT GENERATION INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM MAP UPDATE - V.2017
Part number 84198834
So now that I look at the descriptions I see the V.2017 is for 'NEXT GENERATION'. So even though I selected 2014 CTS the above update would not be for my vehicle? I thought I read somewhere that they used this USB update on their CTS-V successfully. I'm I just getting confused with my 2014 CTS-V and the newer V3 2014's with the latest CUE Infotainment system?
Has anyone ventured to update their V2 CTS's?
So I realize I could use my Garmin - but why if I have something on my CTS?
I could use my phone - though this would eat through my data plan.
I took info from my system:
Application Version: 5.00.0000
Database Version:14.114.23.032812.24
From reading the 032812 means March 28 2012! Why would a 2012 version of MAPs be on my 2014 CTS-V?!?!!?
So even if I go DVD update using the V.2015 I should be up to date, and hoepfully that new road shows up. Though it would be cool if I can install the V.2017 version.
Thanks
